Dan is a qualified social worker with over 20 years of experience working within Children's Social Care. As well as working in frontline children's safeguarding for 14+ years, Dan has experience working within children's residential care, the Youth Justice Service, and he has held numerous positions as a youth worker.

Having numerous years' experience as an agency social worker, Dan has first-hand experience of the challenges that many agency workers experience while working within Local Authority social work (for example, navigating the minefield that has been created by Umbrella Companies who are not tax compliant).

While acting as a team manager within children's safeguarding, Dan has also encountered the many challenges that can be created when Local Authorities cannot recruit the right calibre of agency staff. Apart from this impacting on the quality of the service that can be provided to vulnerable children and families, he has also seen the financial implications that high recruitment costs can have on Local Authority budgets.
