TalentGAPP ("we", "us", "our") is a recruitment platform specialising in Children's Social Care. We connect qualified social workers with Local Authority employers across the UK. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information provided through our mobile application and website.

2. What information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity data: First name, last name, date of birth.
  • Contact data: Email address, phone number.
  • Professional data: Employment status, employment history, qualifications, professional registrations (e.g. Social Work England), DBS/police check status, references, CV documents.
  • Profile media: Profile photograph, video introduction.
  • Location preferences: UK regions and local authorities where you are willing to work.
  • Financial data: Details necessary for processing expense and mileage claims (amounts, dates, supporting information). We do not store payment card or bank account numbers.
  • Usage data: Log data, device type, IP address, pages visited, and actions taken within the app.
  • Communications: Messages sent through the in-app messaging system, interview invitation responses, and job offer interactions.

3. How we collect your information

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Directly from you when you register an account, complete your profile, or submit a contact form.
  • Automatically through your use of the TalentGAPP app (log data, device information).
  • From employers (Local Authorities) in connection with placements, timesheets, and interview activity.

4. Why we collect and use your information

We process your personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:

  • Contract performance: To create and manage your account, match you with relevant job opportunities, facilitate placements, and process timesheets and expense claims.
  • Legitimate interests: To improve our service, prevent fraud, and send service-related communications.
  • Consent: To send you job alerts and marketing communications (you may withdraw consent at any time).
  • Legal obligation: To comply with applicable employment, tax, and data protection law.

5. Who we share your information with

Your information is shared only in the following circumstances:

  • Employers (Local Authorities): Profile information (name, photo, qualifications, employment history, skills, location preferences) is shared with employers who are active on the platform, solely for recruitment purposes. Employers cannot download or export your raw data.
  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party providers for email delivery (SendGrid) and cloud hosting. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information where required by law, a court order, or to protect the safety of any person.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

6. How long we keep your data

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes (e.g. financial records for up to 7 years).

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the following rights:

Our mobile application does not use browser cookies. Usage analytics (such as log data and device information) are collected solely to improve the performance and reliability of the service and are not used for advertising profiling.

The TalentGAPP platform is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated.
